C.S. is an advanced formulation type for crop protection products. These formulations are made by encapsulating active ingredients in polymer shells suspended in water with a dispersant and wetting agent. Spontaneous emulsification occurs when C.S. formulations are diluted in water with particles in a size range of 0.1 to 20µm. C.S. formulations are generally used to give controlled or delayed release of pesticides, provide better protection against toxic active ingredients, and prevent material degradation.
